Thrift Store Treasures

Yesterday was Wednesday, which means 50% at the Thrift store! I went in there with a mission: come out with sweaters. I was not sure how many, but I knew I had to buy at least one. Four sweaters and $8 later, I have more than what I thought I was going to find. I went home and washed them of course and now I am ready to wear my new thrift finds.

Future post of me wearing sweaters is coming soon...

Until then, do not be afraid of your local Thrift Store. When thrifting you always find so many cheap treasures!

Vogue vs. GQ

Women who are interested and find joy in knowing about fashion will read Vogue. Men who want to know how to dress sharp will read GQ. Then there are those women and men who consume themselves in all things fashion, work in fashion, live fashion, breathe fashion, and sleep with fashion. These special brood of people must know all of the new and upcoming designers, trends and news if it relates to fashion. For them it is no brainer to read both Vogue and GQ. Now, Vogue is targeted to females and GQ is targets males, but is there a rule that says females can't read GQ and males can't read Vogue?

I, being an inspiring fashion stylist and/or PR rep for the fashion & entertainment industries, read both magazines. Reading them for me is like doing research and educating myself to be prepared for the career that I want to lead in the very near future. Yet, when I go to buy Vogue I receive "weird" looks. Some people in my life even find it weird that not only do I want to work in the fashion industry, but that I read and subscribe to fashion magazines that are targeted towards women.

Who is to judge my career choices and my magazine reading choices? If fashionable thinkers of any gender want to read a magazine that is not targeted to their gender they should be able to without any weird looks, remarks, or put-downs. Fashionable thinkers are creative and live by their own rules and should be free to enjoy fashion in the ways that they like.

To all of my fashionable thinkers: Enjoy fashion. Be who you are and continue to live your life in a fashionable state.
