The Major Project Runway Debut!

Project Runway came back in a major way last night. It was awesome. Overall three people were eliminated. Not only did I think that a night of Project Runway was great so did a lot of other people. According to the Nielsen ratings the show had more than 4.2 million viewers and became the highest rated competition show on cable of the year.

So I guess moving to Lifetime wasn't so bad after all! The ratings were up 32% from 2008's season 5 premiere.

Heidi can now say, "Auf Wiedersehen Bravo!" Lifetime is her new home!

What did you all think of the night of Project Runway?

Attention: PROJECT RUNWAY IS BACK!

Project Runway is back tonight and I am so excited! It seems like it has been gone forever, but tonight it will premiere on Lifetime. The show show is coming back in a major way.
Starting at 8pm Lifetime will show a 2-hour special titled Project Runway All-Star Challenge. This will have 8 designers from previous seasons competed in a grand design off!!
Then at 10pm is the season 6 premiere of PROJECT RUNWAY!! This is going to be an hour you will not want to miss. This season there will be guest judges like Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria, Rebecca Romijn, Christina Aguilera, and Nicole Kidman. Of course Heidi and Tim are back!
Following the hour long premiere of the show will be a 30 minute show entitled Models of the Runway. This is something completely different for the Project Runway franchise, because we will now get to see more behind the scenes footage of the models who walk the runway for the competing designers.

Ok Fashionable Thinkers from 8pm-11:30pm we will have non stop Project Runway action. This is so exciting! Tune in so we can chat about this tomorrow.
You all can probably tell that I am super excited about this, but I love this show and it seems like it is going to better than before.

Walmart the Fashion Hot Spot (pt. 1)

Russell Simmons, Miley Cyrus & Max Azria, and now Keke Palmer. All of the mentioned names have a visionary outlook on what consumers would be interested in wearing. They all are celebrittes in their own right and they each are responsible for clothing lines being brought to the public at reasonable prices.

Russell Simmons known for his Phat Fashions and Argyleculture clothing lines has given the fashion world something else to get excited about. Mr. Simmons got the idea of of starting his affordable line "American Classics" while he was giving a speech at an University. A student asked, "why he was selling jeans for $90 and if they can not afford that does that not make them cool?" American Classics is not to be considered an urban line, Simmons wants the clothes to speak for themselves and have no limitations in who should and can wear his clothes. American Classics by Russell Simmons is exclusively sold in Walmart stores and is for all of those people who want to be fashion forward without the high cost" Russell Simmons is bringing a fresh style to the everyday male all under $20.

Miley Cyrus made famous for her rock star alter ego, has teamed up with famed designer Max Azria to bring an affordable clothing to Walmart stores. The fashion line Miley Cyrus & Max Azria for Walmart sells all of their items all for under $20. Miley got her inspiration for the teen targeted line from the edgy UK style she sees when in Europe. With this inspiration Miley decided to bring the UK style back to the states with the help of the designer behind BCBG. Miley & Max have a line that will give girls the edgy look they always wanted.

Lastly, Keke Palmer the star of the teen show True Jackson, VP will be launching a line for Walmart. The designs will be based off of Palmer's alter ego True. The line will be called Mad Style by True Jackson. The line will consist of all of the necessary items a teen fashionista will need for under $14. With the help of designer Jane Siskin who collaborated with Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen on their Elizabeth & James clothing line Mad Style by True Jackson will be making a lot of girls fashionable this season.

American Classics by Russell Simmons, Miley Cyrus & Max Azria for Walmart, and Mad Style by True Jackson are all available in stores now!

What do you think of this Walmart fashion trend?

Two Looks, Which is best?

These two bags at first glance can be mistaken as totes from the same designer. They could walk down the runway in the same collection and most will give the designer praise. They are both stylish and fit the look of the upcoming season. Any trendy Fashionable Thinker would want to be seen wearing one of these bags or maybe both. One of the bags comes from Forever 21 and the other comes from Saks Fifth Avenue. With a brief description of the bags it will be clear which bag comes from which store.

These are the stats of the bags: The bag to the left is made of glazed leather, double straps, three zipper pockets, and an inside zipper with three open pockets. The bag to the right is for those who do not like to tote around leather. It is made of faux leather with antique hardware and double flap pockets. Magnetic snap button closure with an inside cell and zipper pocket.

Now which bag is the better buy? Which bag will people be more happy to tote around town? The bag to the left is from Saks Fifth Avenue and retails for $625. The bag to the right is of course from Forever 21 and retails for $28. Both bags are great Fashionable picks. Both bags will be great items to add to your fall wardrobe. Depending upon your shopping budget, either bag will be a great addition to any fashionistas fall/winter '09 look!

FT loves both bags and knows he will see both bags circulating around on women's shoulders this season!

Which bag would you rather have and which bag would you be more apt to buy?

Joseph Helmer

Fashion Designer Joseph Helmer showed his Fall 2009 collection at Montreal Fashion week.

Below is a link to his show. His designs are insanely good and he used fresh produce as accessories.

Fashion Designer: Joseph Helmer

Joseph Helmer is a fashion designer to know. He designs in Canada, but is originally from Haiti. Helmer got his design experience in Europe. He has worked for Narciso Rodriguez in Spain and Marc Jacobs in Paris. Also throughout his career he has worked with John Galliano, Thierry Mugler, Karl Largerfeld, and Christian Lacroix. Currently Helmer is working for himself as the designer of his own fashion line 'Helmer' based in Montreal, Canada. His designs are unique, colorful, and quite possibly the closest thing Canada has of Haute Couture fashion. With over 20 years of European experience he is a fashion designer with an edge.

Joseph Helmer is a fashion designer that should be on every Fashionable Thinkers radar!
